LONG JUSTICE - Soap, Soup and Salvation

"All ill-fated sorts
Who sleep on doorsteps and in alleyways
Take a stumble to the corner
There's heavenly music playin'
No more taking recreation
With your dark defeated friends
They who seek the consolation of the bottle
Never win
Soap, soup and salvation
Tired hearts sing in jubilation
Restoration at the rescue mission
Soap, soup and salvation
Well, Brother Randall is a bit
Long winded and a little loud
And as he pounds the pulpit
The sweat flies from his brow
Making sure none are caught slumbering
In this mournful motley crowd
For the ones that stay awake
Are therefore graciously endowed with...
Soap, soup and salvation
Tired hearts sing in jubilation
Restoration at the rescue mission
Soap, soup and salvation
Procter & Gamble
Campbell's gospel
Watch Brother Randall wave that bible
Bein' drunk and hungry
Seemed like more fun cause
They don't feed no one
Til' all this preachin's done, oh no
I just thought I heard the choir singing
My old favorite song
That old harmony is still familiar
Though it's been so long
Lonely faces, and empty glances
They surround me everywhere
But those sweet angelic voices
Are now rising through the air...
"When the roll is called up yonder"
"When the roll is called up yonder"
"When the roll is called up yonder"
"When the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there"
With...
Soap, soup and salvation
Tired hearts sing in jubilation
Restoration at the rescue mission
Soap, soup and salvation
With...

Soap, soup and salvation

Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict – Pink Floyd
The Beatles - Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds

"The Octave Doctors and the Crystal Machine"
"Prostitute Poems"
"Eat That Phone Book Coda"
"A Sprinkling of Clouds"

PEARL JAM - Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town (1993)
"I seem to recognize your face
Haunting, familiar yet
I can't seem to place it
Cannot find the candle of thought to light your name
Lifetimes are catching up with me
All these changes taking place
I wish I'd seen the place
But no one's ever taken me
Hearts and thoughts they fade, fade away
Hearts and thoughts they fade, fade away
I swear, I recognize your breath
Memories like fingerprints are slowly raising
Me, you wouldn't recall for I'm not my former
It's hard when you're stuck upon the shelf
I changed by not changing at all
Small town predicts my fate
Perhaps that's what no one wants to see
I just want to scream hello
My God it's been so long
Never dreamed you'd return
But now here you are and here I am
Hearts and thoughts they fade away..."

ADAM AND THE ANTS - Never Trust A Man (With Egg On His Face)
Album: Dirk Wears White Sox (1979)
A man and a woman walking down the street
With a son and a daughter it was oh so sweet
When mummy turned to daddy and she said 'my dear
Write out your will the end is near'
Then she pulled out the gun, I saw the sparks
Messed up the suit that he'd bought from Marks
Because she'd heard the voices from outer space
She'd heard the voices from outer space
She'd heard the voices from outer space saying
Never trust a man with egg on his face
Never trust a man with egg on his face
Three months later Mrs B stands
A smile on her face, blood on her hands
The kiddies got scared and have run to bed
The headlines in the papers said that
She was the victim of an awful plan
Announced through the mouthpiece of a little green man
She'd heard the voices from outer space saying
Never trust a man with egg on his face
Never trust a man with egg on his face
La-la
Ging mir zumindest lange so. Und dann schaut man irgendwann mal, was "Egg On His Face" wirklich bedeutet:
